A history of my online writing
Over the years, my online writing has lived under several roofs. This website brings together selected work from two earlier publications that I created: The Teeming Brain and The Living Dark. One grew out of the other, and both eventually led here.
These archives are works in progress. They're not complete mirrors of everything originally published, but curated records that preserve significant essays, interviews, conversations, and other pieces. I’ll continue restoring and organizing all of the material gradually.
The Teeming Brain (2006–2022)
I launched The Teeming Brain in 2006 as a blog where I could channel the full range of my interests. I developed a suitable tagline for it: Channeling the multiverse of ideas. This was eventually accompanied by the invitation, Read widely. See broadly. Think deeply.

In 2012, I remade it as a collaborative project, bringing aboard a group of additional writers whom I called “The Teem. Their work became a vital part of the site’s identity. A few years later, it evolved back into a single-author publication. After sixteen years, in 2022, I brought it to a close as its concerns and energies flowed into what became The Living Dark.

The Living Dark (2022–2026)
I created The Living Dark as a more focused successor to The Teeming Brain, a newsletter and online publication centered on creativity, consciousness, religion, horror, and the inner life. For four years, it became the principal home for my essays and dispatches during the next phase of my online work.

That phase has now brought itself to a close as well. This does not, however, mean I have abandoned its central concerns. Instead, they are now carried forward into this site, under my own name. The original Substack archive will remain available, while selected work will gradually find a permanent place here.
